New 350cc Triumph Bike Coming

350cc Triumph Speed

According to industry sources, Bajaj is currently working on a smaller version of Triumph 400 models in the country. In the coming time, the brand could introduce a new sub-350cc model. The new engine will have a smaller bore, to make it fit under the 350cc category limit set by the new GST structure. That said, it will be an entry-level Triumph model for starters.

Talking about the new 350cc engine, it is expected to see a power drop of nearly 3-5bhp, than the current 398cc engine. It will be more interesting to see if Triumph only launches the Speed or fetches the whole 400cc lineup into this 350cc category. Once the brand launches this new entry level motorcycle, it will be giving a tough competition to the Royal Enfield models in the country. Moreover, the upcoming Triumph 350cc models could cost a bit lower than the RE models making it a better choice for buyers.\

Similar Strategy For KTMs?

KTM 390 Duke

Now, as the Triumph 400 models will get a 350cc option, this raises a question as to if Bajaj will do the same with KTM 390 models too? While, introducing a new 350cc engine for Triumph will be creating a new segment in itself. However, KTMs are already offering 160cc and 250cc models apart from the 390 models. Moreover, the KTM 390 models are tremendously popular in the country. That said, how KTM buyers will react to the 350cc models will be a cause for worry.

Similarly, it is also to be seen if the Bajaj Dominar 400 and the Pulsar N400z will also receive lower tuned 350cc models in the future. Inclusion of such 400cc models, transitioned under the 350cc segment will help the brand to fit in the new GST brackets too and thus generate more sales.
