On the 22nd, the new GST 2.0 rates became effective. With that, several bikes (equipped under a 350cc engine) get cheaper, while bikes (equipped above a 350cc engine) falling away from this category have now become expensive. Bajaj has already said that it will extend the full benefits to its customers for its sub-350cc bikes. However, the brand has again made headlines, stating that it will not increase the prices of its Triumph 400 and KTM 390 models, as well as its own Dominar 400 and NS400z models.

This move has now put the bike maker a step ahead in the competition. As other brands have increased prices of their affected models, the prices of made-in-India Triumph and KTMs remain constant. But, the brand has not yet announced about how long they will be keeping the prices intact. That said, if you are planning to buy one, you can go ahead asap.

Advantage In Market

Triumph 400cc engine

Bajaj might bear some loss, but this decision will keep it ahead in the game. How? Well post GST 2.0, the KTM ADV 390X is now more affordable than RE Himalayan 450. The same will go for Triumph T4, Thruxton 400 & Speed 400 – it will be an affordable alternative for the RE’s Scram 440, Continental GT 650 and Guerrilla 450.
