Ford India To Make A Comeback?

Ford might begin its operations towards the end of 2025. Now, to clear the air, Ford is only restarting its production to export components into the international markets. As of now, Ford is not going to start bringing cars into the Indian market. However, the good news is that, if at all, Ford decides to enter the Indian car market again, they might bring back the Endeavour, which is sold in International markets under the Ford Everest nameplate. But as of now, it is confirmed that Ford is preparing its Chennai facility to restart production.

Why Does Ford Want To Come Back To India?
Ford wants to come back to India as it is more cost-effective to manufacture components here in India. The labour costs are lower than in the USA, and the brand already has supply chains that are well-established, adding to the convenience factor. As of now, Ford is adamant about just producing cars for international markets like Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East. India has a solid port infrastructure along with BTA (Bilateral Trade Agreements), which makes it easier for Ford to export its products to different countries.

What Else?

All the Ford Endeavour fanboys have been praying to bring back the Endeavour. However, there is no confirmation from the brand that they will bring in the Ford Everest. Even though we all want to see the Ford Everest in India, it would not be feasible for Ford. The Everest will be brought in through the CBU route, resulting in a hefty price tag. As of now, it is unlikely that the Everest will make its way to India.
