In 2021, Skoda introduced the Kushaq in the highly competitive mid-size SUV segment. This SUV aimed to rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta and the Kia Seltos in the Indian markets. However, the trust and the loyal fan following of the Creta was never affected by the Kushaq. Now, in a bid to attract SUV buyers, Skoda has introduced, the new Kushaq Onxy AT variant in the market. This makes the automatic variant of the Kushaq cheaper by Rs 2.35 lakh!

Skoda Kushaq Onyx Automatic

Recently, Skoda India launched an automatic option for the Onyx trim of the Kushaq. Earlier, the automatic option was available from the Ambition variant. The Ambition AT is currently priced at Rs 18.64 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). Whereas the new Onyx AT has been launched for Rs 15.78 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). The difference between the Ambition and the Onyx automatic is nearly Rs 3 lakh!

What else?

The Onyx variant comes equipped with a sole 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine. This engine produces 114bhp & 178Nm of torque, mated to manual & the new torque converter automatic gearbox. Skoda also offers a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine on higher variants with an option for DCT gearbox. Other than that, there are no significant changes for the Onyx variant. However, the brand has added features like hill hold control, LED headlamps, automatic climate control, paddle shifters, & more. Also, Skoda is also offering 6-Airbags as a standard equipment for the Kushaq.

Skoda Kushaq – Facelift Coming

Additionally, Skoda has confirmed a facldift for the Kushaq SUV. The brand has also confirmed that the SUV will be equipped with advanced features like 360-degree camera, Level-2 ADAS and more. We can also expect features like panoramic sunroof and  larger touchscreen system. Whereas the engine and transmission options will be the same for the facelift. In fact we have also spotted other Skoda cars – the Slavia facelift & the upcoming Nexon rival. So overall, Skoda India is ready to take on its rivals with upcoming facelifts and new products.
