Kia took a massive gamble by launching the Carens in the Ertiga-dominated affordable 7-seater MPV. The Carens did start on a good note, but of late, its sales have dropped. To stop this slide, Kia has started working on the facelifted model. Now one such test mule has been spotted testing revealing new details. In today’s article, let’s talk about the Kia Carens facelift.

Spy shots

New Kia 7-seater

In this spy shot, we get to see the design changes of the Carens facelift. At the front, we can see the new DRL and LED headlamp design that looks similar to the EV5. It doesn’t get the connected DRL treatment and has a chrome plate in the middle. Kia has also updated the lower bumper design and it remains to be seen if fog lamps are retained on the facelifted model. We can also spot the 360-degree camera setup on the ORVMs. Other than that, we also have new alloy wheels and tail lamps.

What else to expect?

On the inside, we could see a dashboard layout similar to the Seltos and Sonet. This means we could see a floating infotainment system and a connected digital instrument cluster. New features on the Carens facelift could include dual-zone climate control, a head-up display, panoramic sunroof and more. We also expect ADAS to make its way onto the Carens facelift as now even the Sonet gets it.
