Hero Xtreme 200S launch on 30th January 2018

Hero has been working on getting new models in India, in quick succession.This will include various capacities and different segments. The new R&D centre is expected to increase Hero’s edge and help it garner a higher market share in the times to come. Performance bikes is also an area which hero wants to explore. The Hero Xtreme 200S was showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo. The bike is now ready to be launched on 30th January. The Hero Xtreme 200S will be targeted at enthusiasts and those who want extra performance. This will be a new chapter for the Indian manufacturer.

Hero MotoCorp aims to get into performance biking. It will look at attracting the younger audience with the Hero Xtreme 200S. With the largest network, it will help hero to reach out to a wider audience, across geographies. Existing Hero customers will also be tapped. Hero has a large number of loyalists and it is the largest two-wheeler manufacturer as well. This will be a great opportunity to reach out to the existing customers for upgrades and additionally build up volumes. The Hero Karzima when initially launched was a big hit and people picked this up as it competed directly with the newly launched Bajaj Pulsar, back in the days.

The Xtreme 200S will be powered by a 199cc single-cylinder engine that will bring out around 18.5bhp of power and 17.2Nm of maximum torque. This will come mated to a six-speed transmission. This will act as a good upgrade for existing Hero customers as well as new ones

Hero Xtreme 200S Launch Date 

The Hero Xtreme 200S will be launched on 30th January 2018. It will also be showcased at the Auto Expo 2018. This will be an all new engine platform that Hero will be introducing for the first time. Hero MotoCorp has indigeneously built this bike. This is the company’s first step in this direction. The new Xtreme 200S will be a performance bike.

Hero bikes are generally very affordable. The Xtreme 200S will be different in this matter. This will be the best in class in terms of pricing. The new bike will not just be affordable, but also offer good features and power too. This will make to a good option for those looking to upgrade.

Hero Xtreme 200S Colour

The Hero Xtreme 200s will be coming in at least three colour options. These will be in two tone shades. Red and White, Black and Red, Dark Blue and White are the likely colours in which this will come.

 Hero Xtreme 200S Design

As this is the Xtreme 200S, will have familiar styling and will resemble the Xtreme family. There is a large headlamp , which looks sharp and it also has daytime running LEDs placed bonn top. The handlebar positioning is sporty, short and low. This aids in handling as well. The fuel tank looks big and muscular. The alloy wheels will have a new design this time. It will most probably get a two tone colour, just as the concept bike. We’ll have to wait and see if it makes it into production. The saddle could also be multi-coloured like the concept version. There is small windshield too and the handle bar is short and easy to use. The design is quite sporty.

The bike isn’t very tall but it has a good stance. It does seem to be low and the seating will be sporty. This is a naked bike. Will there be a fuly faired version? Too early to say that. This bike will compete with the TVS Apache RTR200.

Hero Xtreme 200S Specifications

The chassis of the Hero Xtreme 200S will be shared with the Xtreme 150. Hero will enhance the suspension stiffness for better handling.  At the same time it will not be too stiff in order to provide a balance ride. A highly powerful bike that will attract younger audience. Hero MotoCorp will be making its way into the Indian market on 30th of January.

Hero Xtreme 200S Performance

The bike will come with an all-new engine, which is indigenously developed by Hero Motocorp. This is a 200cc engine that will be churning 18.5bhp at 8,500 rpm and a peak torque of 17.2Nm at 6,000rpm. This bike will have a six-speed gearbox. There will be 17-inch tyres and both disc brakes. ABS might be introduced at a latter stage or could be on a higher variant. Even Hero will get Combi braking and Combi ABS on its bikes. Hero is even working on multi-riding modes on its performance engines. This could be the first bike that will get it. Hero will want to go head-on against the Pulsars and the Apaches.

Hero will be packing in, one of the best in class performance and even riding dynamics. Hero’s all new products have good ride and handling and for this bike it should be even better. The brand is looking at catering to younger audience and becoming a performance brand. This will be the first Hero bike that will come with a six-speed transmission. Hero is working towards getting multiple new bikes in India and one of the first performance bikes from the company. For a 200cc, this bike has a high horsepower and even the torque is good enough. Hero Xtreme 200S Mileage

The bike will have a fuel-efficiency of about 40-50km/l. This will be a highly fuel-efficient bike as Hero is known to make bikes with good mileage. The Xtreme 200S claimed mileage should be about 55km/l.

Hero Xtreme 200S Top Speed

The Hero Xtreme 200S will have a top speed of about 145 km/hr. This should be good enough for a bike of this size and power. It might be a bit too shaky after this speed. Hero’s new R&D head is from BMW Motorrad so we can expect the bikes to have a good oomph in their engines and even in handling. We reckon this bike should do its 0-100km/hr in about 9 seconds. This will be a quick bike and Hero will be working on reducing the weight of it. At the same time, the new Hero bike should be stable at up to 100-120 km/hr at least.
