As expected the overall silhouette of Renault’s version is identical to the Dacia Duster. One major is the grille has changed, and instead of the Dacia logo we have the Renault badging. The rest of the front design including the LED headlamps, fog lamps and bumper are the same as the Dacia Duster. In the side profile, we again don’t have any changes and the SUV continues with a lot of black cladding. The alloy wheel gets a slight variation compared to the Dacia Duster. At the rear, we again have no changes, barring the new logo of Renault.
The dashboard of the Renault Duster is identical to the Dacia version. The only change is the upholstery colour and Duster inscribed on the dashboard. Overall, the design is nothing fancy, but looks very practical. Renault has given physical HVAC buttons and also a lot of phone charging options.
New Renault Duster – Features
The Duster comes with a 10-inch infotainment, digital instrument cluster, 6-speaker Arkamys 3D sound system, electronic parking brake, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The Indian model could get extra features in the form of sunroof, ventilated seats, ambient lighting, etc. With ADAS becoming a norm in this segment, we expect Renault to also offer it on the Indian version.
Renault is yet to reveal the specifications for the Turkish market. However, the Dacia Duster comes with three engine options that include a 1.0-litre turbo petrol capable of producing 120bhp. Next up, we have a 1.3-litre turbo petrol that produces 168bhp. If this tune comes to India, it will be the most powerful car in its segment. Lastly, we also have a 1.2-litre plug-in hybrid engine. Renault could revolutionise the hybrid segment if it brings this option to India.
New Renault Duster – India launch
The sales of Renault Duster are expected to commence in Turkey in the second quarter of 2024. However, we will have to wait till the second half of 2025 for Renault to bring the Duster to India. This is because the India model is expected to be slightly different from the global version. Pricing-wise, we can expect a price tag of Rs 12.50 lakh to Rs 22.75 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
