Mahindra is working on 56 new products – EXCLUSIVE

Mahindra and Mahindra has been working on an array of new products. Our sources state that the company is working on about 56 new products for the automotive industry. There are a few new platforms in the making however there are multiple new products.

The list is long as Mahindra has been increasing its product portfolio. The company has plans to invest about INR 75 billion in auto and farm sector, as the company had recently filed its future investments at the Bombay Stock Exchange. The new products that being developed will have technology sharing with Reva for hybrid and electric vehicles, while designing will be taken care by Pininfarina. The products are being developed in the company’s Indian and other global R&D centres.

Mahindra is targeting to become a global player and it is also developing multiple new petrol engines. The recently developed petrol and diesel engine platform is shared with Ssangyong. The Indian automotive maker is targeting multiple new UVs and it won’t get into hatchbacks and sedans. It will be retaining the company’s DNA and it will introduce UVs only.

Expect these new products to be launched in the next five years duration. Mahindra is looking at expanding its portfolio with a product range that looks stylish, adventurous and will come with the latest engine technologies that will have a blend of performance, fuel efficiency and even low on carbon footprint.
