Royal Enfield, the lifestyle motorcycle manufacturer has been growing from strength-to-strength in the past few years. 2016 too has begun well for the manufacturer who has just posted a record figure of 49156 motorcycles being sold in the month of February. This strong surge on the sales front has been the result of both, domestic as well as export demand and represents a 63% hike in y/o/y growth over 2015.

To give you a further break-up of the sales mix, the company’s exports grew a staggering 112% when it sold 1589 units overseas, as compared to 749 units last year. Domestic sales too rose by 61% from 29491 units in Feb 2015 to 47567 units for the same month in 2016.

The Himalayan: 
Royal Enfield also introduced their purpose-built, middle-weight adventure-tourer, the Himalayan just before Auto Expo 2016. It is named after the mighty mountains where it draws its roots from. The company combined over six decades of manufacturing experience and the collective knowledge of the rich & vibrant rider community in developing their newest motorcycle. It is designed to appeal to the purists, while continuing to remain accessible to a wide range of riders. The Himalayan is powered by the all-new, long-stroke LS410 engine. With bookings scheduled to open in March, the sales success story for Royal Enfield is expected to set new records in the months to come.
