Ford’s 1.5-litre diesel can now churn 120bhp

Ford’s 1.5-litre TDCi engine is now capable of producing about 120bhp of power. This engine had recently got an update in India as well, as the power was bumped up from 90bhp to about 98bhp. With a recent update, the power rating has been bumped up to 120bhp. This increase in power has been achieved with some changes in the design of the four-cylinder diesel engine.

Ford is also working at some more SUVs for India that are bigger than the Ecosport but smaller than the newly launched Endeavour. These new SUVs will come to India with a 1.5-litre and 2.0-litre engine options. The Creta is the new segment leader in the SUV range above the Ecosport and Ford will not want to miss out on that segment, especially when it has a strong player like the Kuga. However, Ford is looking at making some alterations to this SUV before it confirms its launch in India.

At the moment, the company is working towards getting the Ford Mustang and the Ranger.

The American automotive giant is known for its muscle cars and pick-ups and that is what it is doing for the Indian car market.

Getting two of its products as a brand building exercise. Ford hasn’t confirmed on the Ranger bit, but our sources close to plant state that we can expect this new pick-up to make its way into India as well. Ford is looking at adding more value with its new range of products but at the same time it wants to make the Blue Oval as aspirational brand too.
