The Chrysler Dodge Neon has been a popular car globally and Fiat-Chrysler is now looking at refreshing this brand with an all-new sedan.

The new Neon will be based on the Fiat Tipo sedan that was launched recently and is sold in Turkey and other European countries.

The new Neon will share its dimensions too with the Fiat Tipo and will be 4.5 metres in length, 1.48 metres in height, 1.78 metres in width and will be having a wheelbase of 2.64 metres. Boot space will also be identical at 510 litres. The engines are also likely to be borrowed from the Fiat family which include 1.4 T-Jet and 1.6-litre petrol and 1.3-litre and 1.6-litre Multijet diesel engines.

The New Chrysler/Dodge Neon will be sold in key emerging markets which include South America where Chrysler is already selling rebadged versions of the Fiat Linea, Fiat Viaggio and the Mitsubishi Attrage as Dodge. The Dodge brand is not only popular in American countries, but also in the Middle-East.

This move to consolidate products will prove beneficial for the company and thereby more profitable too. Fiat will also be using its platform to spawn vehicles under the Jeep brand and will be introducing a new SUV in 2017, which will be made in Indiaand also exported to other countries.
