Tata Nexon EV facelift spotted testing!

Tata already has a big enough lead in the EV sector in India. It is actually the only manufacturer which has taken up the EV segment so seriously in the country. The Nexon EV is the best-selling EV here. Tata is readying the Nexon facelift with the ICE variant being spotted regularly. Now new spy shots have showcased the EV version of the facelift. In today’s article, let’s talk about the Tata Nexon EV facelift.

New spy shots

These spy shots were posted by MotorPlanet. Though the car is heavily camouflaged, we can easily figure out this is the new Nexon. So it looks like the normal Nexon, how is this the EV version? When you look at the side profile, you can see orange wires hanging on the battery pack. There is an exhaust pipe, but it seems like a fake one as it has no connection. In the interiors, we can see the two-spoke steering wheel and paddle shifters. These paddle shifters could be for regenerative braking. The rest of the dashboard is covered, but we can see the floating infotainment system.

What else do we know?

The Nexon EV could get the same exterior changes as the ICE-Nexon. So we can expect a Curvv-inspired front design and a connected tail lamp design at the rear. In the interiors, we could see new features like a bigger infotainment system, digital instrument cluster etc. There are even talks of ADAS on Nexon. But we are yet to see any test mules with the ADAS radar. In terms of specifications, the Nexon EV could continue with its 30.2kWh battery pack paired with a 127bhp motor on the Prime variant and 40.5kWh battery pack paired with a 141bhp motor on the max variant.

Tata has been quite tightlipped about the launch timeline of the Nexon. According to reports, Tata has plans to launch the Nexon facelift by August 2023. This could make sense considering the number of times the test mule has been spotted. What about the EV variant? The EV variant could be launched at the same time as the ICE variant.
