The Tata Sierra has been an iconic nameplate in Tata’s portfolio. It holds a special significance for the brand. As we all know, Tata is bringing back the Sierra in its new avatar. We saw the Sierra EV at the Auto Expo, but Tata didn’t reveal any details about the specifications of the Sierra. So what will be the range of the Sierra? In today’s article, let’s talk about Tata Sierra range expectations.

Range expectations

As stated above, Tata didn’t reveal the specifications of the Sierra EV. However, we can do some guesswork regarding its expected range. For starters, the Sierra EV will be based on a ground-up EV platform. Also, the Sierra is expected to be launched after 2025. Now, by the time the Sierra EV arrives, technology would have developed and we could see higher range figures. Now a 600km or 700km claimed range could become quite possible for the brand. Anything about it will be welcomed.

Design changes?

The Sierra concept Tata revealed at the expo is a bit different from the earlier concept. At the front, we have an infinity DRL design with headlamps below. This design seems like an extension of the design we see on the Punch and Harrier. Overall the front has that boxy and aggressive look. The side profile has a large glass area and dual tone finish. For the interiors, Tata has gone minimalistic with a clean dashboard layout.

Tata Sierra range – Launch timeline

Tata has been quite tightlipped about the launch timeline of the Sierra EV. But considering the fanfare it received at the expo, and it is even listed on Tata’s official website, Sierra EV seems a real possibility. We expect Tata to unveil the production model in 2025 after the Avinya concept.
