Safety standards are improving in the country. As the market matures, people are looking to buy safer cars. Structurally we are seeing the change, but we are also seeing more active safety features. Active safety features try to avoid accidents in the first place. ADAS is one such active safety feature. In India, some cars have started getting ADAS, and more are expected to get this feature. In today’s article, let’s talk about upcoming cars with ADAS.

Kia Sonet facelift

Kia recently wrapped up the launch of the Seltos facelift and has now turned its focus towards the Sonet. Kia introduced ADAS on the Seltos and some of these ADAS features could trickle down on the Sonet facelift. It could get 8 to 9 features compared to the 17 ADAS features offered on the Seltos facelift. Apart from ADAS, we can expect new features like a cooled glove box, heads-up display, 360-degree camera, electric driver seat etc. Kia is expected to launch the Sonet facelift by the end of this year.

Cars with ADAS – Hyundai Creta facelift

Like the Seltos, the Creta is also expected to get ADAS in its next update. Hyundai is working on a new facelifted model for the Indian market. This car will be different from the Tucson-inspired front design one that the brand launched in Indonesia. The Creta facelift will come with level-2 ADAS like the Seltos facelift. Other than ADAS, we could see a refreshed design and new features like a 360-degree camera, updated instrument cluster etc. Hyundai is expected to launch the Creta facelift sometime in 2024.

New Kia Carnival

Kia has confirmed that it will be launching the new-gen Carnival in India. However, it will be the facelifted model of the car showcased at the Auto Expo. Kia is currently testing this car outside India and it is expected to be launched globally before the end of this year. This Carnival comes with ADAS and we can expect it on the Indian version too. When is it coming? Kia will be launching the new-gen Carnival sometime in 2024.

Cars with ADAS – Mahindra Scoprio-N

Mahindra has confirmed that it plans to incorporate ADAS across its product lineup. The first car to get ADAS in its portfolio will be the Scorpio-N. The brand didn’t state when it will get ADAS. However, we think it could be with a mid-cycle update something like a facelift. Other than ADAS, we could see some other new features on the facelifted model.
