The EV race is heating up in the country, and everyone is looking to join in. Recently, Mahindra launched its newest EV, the XUV400. The XUV400 is almost the size of the Hyundai Creta. Speaking of Hyundai Creta, recently its EV version was spotted in testing. A Hyundai Creta EV? Yes, Hyundai has plans to electrify the Creta. Recently, the Hyundai Creta EV was spotted testing. The spy shots showed the current generation of the Creta, but with a protrusion under the body that seems to be an EV battery pack. The prototype was also spotted near a charging station further confirming the possibility. What battery pack could it get? There are no details about that, but we can expect a 40kWh to 50kWh battery pack on the Creta. 

What else could it get?

The spotted car didn’t feature any exterior changes, but the production model will get some exterior changes like blue highlights and EV badging. In the interior, we could see some changes like an updated dashboard layout. Feature-wise, we could see regenerative braking, drive modes, a bigger infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof etc.

The Creta EV is in its early stages of development. For now, Hyundai is only testing the battery packing and technical stuff for the Creta EV. So when will it hit the market? According to reports, the brand plans to launch the Creta EV sometime in 2025. Till then, Hyundai will be focusing on the Kona and IONIQ-5.
