More Hybrid car options for you are coming soon!
The electrification wave in the Indian automotive market is spicing up with affordable EVs. Now, the foremost factor of affordability has been taken into account by manufacturers so that buyers avail economical drives. Moreover, one such element boosting this factor is hybrid cars. For buyers who are not yet ready at going fully electric, a hybrid powertrain serves as the perfect option. This enables one to get the perks of high mileage and some pure EV drive. In today’s article, we will talk about the upcoming hybrid cars in the market.
Upcoming Hybrid Cars – Maruti Innova HyCross
We all are distinctly familiar with the Toyota and Maruti umbrella which has already spawned sister cars like Baleno-Glanza, Grand Vitara-Urban Cruiser HyRyder and many more. Moreover, one more such car is expected to reveal at the end of this year which is a badge-engineered version of the Toyota Innova HyCross. This model would be the most expensive and also the most loaded one from the brand. All in all, the overall car would be the same on the mechanical side but we can expect some tweaks on the exterior stylings and interiors.
Coming into the full-size SUV category, there’s a worthy competitor aiming to take on the Fortuner. Nissan is highly likely to bring the X-Trail to India with only a petrol engine mated strong hybrid powertrain. These setups would enable the car to offer 2WD and 4WD drive for enhanced offroad capabilities. In terms of equipment, it is set to get all the knicks and knacks. Features like a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, an electronic parking brake, auto hold, a 360-degree parking camera, etc could be seen.
Upcoming hybrid cars – Nissan Qashqai
We have another Nissan on the list as the brand is focusing highly on its petrol hybrid powertrains. We are talking about the Qashqai which is built on the CMF-CD platform of the brand. The car has already been on test which is insinuating its launch after the X-Trail’s. Along with mild hybrid options, the Qashqai could also be offered with a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine paired with a 140kW electric motor with self-charging capabilities.
Upcoming hybrid cars – New-gen Maruti Swift
Suzuki Swift is a well-known moniker in the Indian market. The car which is known for its sporty driving dynamics is all set to receive a generation update in the upcoming year. In this major overhaul, Maruti is likely to ignite the strong hybrid element with an all new setup in the car. The new Swift is likely to be a strong hybrid model which could return a mileage of up to 35 to 40kmpl. No exact power figures of this engine is out but the prices are expected to rise due to the additional hybrid tech.
