New Hyundai Verna design revealed
The Verna has been a pivotal product in Hyundai’s lineup. Even with the dwindling sedan sales, Hyundai wants to keep the Verna in its arsenal. Last week, Hyundai teased some design elements of the Verna. Today it has revealed the design sketches of the same. These new shots give us a fair idea about the design of the new Verna. In today’s article, let’s talk about the new Hyundai Verna design.
Design details
Hyundai has dropped the first design renders of the new Verna. Hyundai’s tagline for the Verna is futuristic, and it certainly looks that way. At the front, we have a chequered grille with headlamps integrating into the grille. Above that, we have a full-width DRL. The bonnet comes with a lot of cuts and creases. As we come to the sides, Hyundai has continued the cuts and creases. The new Verna looks almost as big as the Skoda Octavia. At the rear, we have taillamps that connect in the centre.
New Hyundai Verna design – Specifications
The new Hyundai Verna will come with a new 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine. This petrol engine is rumoured to produce 160bhp of power that could make the Verna one of the fastest in its segment. This engine will come paired with a 6-MT and 7-DCT gearbox. The second engine will be the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated unit paired with a 6-MT and a CVT gearbox. Hyundai has dropped the diesel engine due to the upcoming emission norms.
What else to expect?
The new Verna will be a lot more premium than the outgoing model. It could get a premium dashboard layout and seat upholstery. Being a Hyundai car, we can expect it to come with several new features. The new Verna is going to get new features like ADAS, a 360-degree camera, a digital instrument cluster, wireless charging etc. Considering the elongated dimensions, we can also expect better rear seat space and bigger boot space something that the outgoing model lacked.
New Hyundai Verna design – Launch timeline
Hyundai has already confirmed that it will be launching the new Verna on the 21st of March. Hyundai has already opened bookings for the Verna. What about the pricing? The new Verna is expected to be a bit more expensive than the current model. So we can expect a starting price of Rs 12 lakhs to Rs 13 lakhs (ex-showroom).
