Maruti’s answer to the ever-popular Thar has already started to mark its way in the market. In almost a week of unveiling, Maruti has received more than 25,000 bookings of the car. The Jimny which has finally made its way into the Indian market in a 5-door disguise is available through Nexa outlets. The pricing of the car is not yet revealed but today we will talk about 5 unique things about the Maruti Jimny!

The Indian spec Jimny is available with a 5-door layout. The car measures 3,985mm in length, 1,645mm in width and 1,720mm in height. It sits on a wheelbase of 2,590mm which makes it highly comfortable than the 3-door model. All in all, the car offers more legroom for the rear passenger, gets 308 litres of bootspace, and offers more practicality. The car gets a ground clearance of 210mm.
AllGrip Pro
Maruti has loaded the Jimny with its ‘AllGrip Pro’ 4×4 system. The Jimny comes equipped with a low-range transfer case which gives it hardcore offroading capabilities. It has got a separate lever for the low-range case which can be used to change from ‘2H’, ‘4H’, ‘4L’ mode.

The Jimny 5 door would be available in two variants – Zeta and Alpha. Talking about the feature list, it gets six airbags, a limited-slip differential, a rearview camera, a rear defogger, a hill descent control, a 9-inch infotainment system, a premium sound system and many more. All in all, the car is packed with plenty of goodies which are anticipated in such types of cars.
Engine
The car is powered by the K15B 1.5-litre engine that makes 102bhp and 134Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 4-speed automatic and a 5-speed manual gearbox. This is the only engine option given to the car and this mill could feel underpowered in extreme offroad conditions. It has got all the offroad-worthy tech but the performance figures powering this tech are still to be tested.
