Buying Kia Seltos makes no sense!

When the Kia Seltos was launched no one thought that it would be such a success. It took the market by storm even dethroning the segment leader Hyundai Creta for some time. Even in 2023, the Seltos is selling quite well. However, considering the current parameters it doesn’t make sense for someone to buy it. Why? 2023 Kia Seltos to get first in segment features

No fuel-efficient petrol

The Kia Seltos comes with two petrol engine options – a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated and a 1.4-litre turbo. The 1.5-litre gives decent mileage but lacks performance. While the 1.4-litre turbo has that performance but suffers in mileage. You may ask about the diesel option. Yes, diesel is good, but not everyone wants a diesel engine. With the upcoming norms, people are vary about them. Also, the hybrid options available offer power and efficiency similar to diesel. So that too makes the case for not considering a Seltos.

2023 Kia Seltos – Features 

The Kia Seltos is still the most feature-loaded car in this segment, but the competition is catching up. The newly launched Grand Vitara and Urban Cruiser HyRyder come with all the features like a 360-degree camera, heads-up display, ventilated seats and bigger touchscreens. These new car even gets panoramic sunroofs and AWD technology too that the Seltos misses out. So if these unique features are your priority you can consider other options than the Seltos too. 

Safety

We don’t need to stress the importance of safety. It has been a neglected point in the country, but recent awareness is increasing its importance. The Seltos scored barely three stars in the GNCAP crash test, which is disappointing for a Rs 20 lakh car. On the other hand, in the same segment, we have the Kushaq and Taigun scoring 5 stars in even stricter crash test norms. So if safety is your priority, then there are better options.

2023 Kia Seltos – Facelift coming

The Seltos as we all know is due for a facelift. Kia has already showcased the facelift outside of India. So it is only a matter of time before Kia brings the facelift to India. So maybe you could wait and buy the Seltos facelift later as it is only a few months away. It is better to wait for the new model, which will get a new design and a plethora of new features, including ADAS.
