Mahindra XUV400 launched! Nexon EV killer?
Mahindra gave the Auto Expo a miss as it had already unveiled all its new cars. Now as the dust settles on the Expo, Mahindra has launched the XUV400. The XUV400 is the brand’s first EV after a long sabbatical in this segment. Mahindra has already unveiled the car in September last year and now we have the pricing of the XUV400. In today’s article, let’s talk about the Mahindra XUV400 price.
Mahindra XUV400 price
The pricing of the XUV400 starts from Rs 15.99 lakh and goes to Rs 18.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The XUV400 comes in two variants – EC and EL. EC variant comes with a claimed range of 375km and two charging options a 3.3kW and a 7.2kW option. While the EL variant comes with a claimed range of 456km and only the 7.2kW charging option. A point to note is that these are introductory prices for first 5000 bookings of each variants.
Dimensions
The overall silhouette of the XUV400 is more or less identical to the XUV300. But the XUV400 is a bit bigger than the XUV300. It is 4200mm in length, 1821mm in width & 1634mm in height. It sits on a wheelbase of 2600mm and has a boot space of 378 litres and 418 litres if counted to the roof.
Design
The Mahindra XUV400 gets a closed-off grille, a common trait of EVs. The closed-off grille comes with copper-coloured inserts and also a copper-coloured logo. In the interiors, we see a black theme with copper inserts, giving it a premium look. Mahindra has also tweaked the button layout a bit on the XUV400.
Battery & range
The XUV400 comes with a 148bhp PSM motor and a torque of 310Nm. What about the range? The XUV400 comes with a 39.4kWh battery pack with a claimed range of 456km. This battery pack comes with IP67 certification (dust and waterproof). Mahindra claims that the XUV400 can do the 0 to 100kmph sprint in just 8.3 seconds, making it the fastest electric SUV in its segment. With a fast charger, the XUV400 can go from 0% to 80% in 50 mins.

Features have become a vital point in the Indian market. The XUV400 comes with features like drive modes (Fun, Fast, Fearless), 60+ connectivity features, over-the-air updates, an electric sunroof, one-pedal driving and a 7.0-inch infotainment system.
