Tata Sierra EV makes a comeback!

It has been a long time since the Sierra EV was unwrapped at the Auto Expo 2020. It created a lot of hype, but after that Tata Motors kind of forgot about it. Many thought the Sierra project was dead, but fast forward to today Tata unveiled the Sierra EV concept 2.0 at the Auto Expo 2023. In today’s article, let’s talk about the 2023 Tata Sierra EV. 

Design changes

The Sierra concept revealed today is radically different from the earlier concept. At the front, we have an infinity DRL design with the headlamps below. Overall the front looks quite bold and aggressive. The side profile is unique with a dual-tone finish and a large window area. What about the rear? The rear again comes with an infinity tail lamp design and a rear spoiler. What about the interior? Tata has tweaked the interior design of the Sierra EV into a more practical production car form. It seems to be a blend of the Curvv and Avinya concepts. 

Specifications

Tata didn’t reveal the specifications of the Sierra EV. However, the Sierra could become the flagship model in Tata’s EV lineup. So it will need at least a 500 to 600km real-world range. Tata should also give it dual motors giving AWD capabilities offering off-road capabilities similar to the original Sierra. 

2023 Tata Sierra EV – Launch timeline

Tata has again shied away from revealing anything about the launch timeline of the Sierra EV. But considering Tata has brought back the concept it is a sign that the Sierra EV is a real possibility. Also, the current concept seems more production ready. We expect Tata to unveil the production version in 2024 or 2025.
