Maruti as a manufacturer has made its name in the affordable segment. With the SUV craze taking over Maruti has forayed into the SUV space. Last year, Maruti launched the Grand Vitara and the new Brezza. Maruti to increase their value for money aspect is even introducing CNG in its SUVs. Though everyone was waiting for the Brezza CNG, Maruti has launched the Grand Vitara CNG first. In today’s article, let’s talk about the Grand Vitara CNG.

Toyota had already started taking bookings for the Hyryder CNG, the sister car of the Grand Vitara. But Toyota is yet to reveal the pricing of the Urban Cruiser HyRyder CNG. So Maruti has gone one step ahead and launched the Grand Vitara S-CNG before the Urban Cruiser Toyota HyRyder CNG. Design changes-wise, we don’t have any exterior changes barring the CNG sticker on the rear glass. 

Specifications

Maruti is offering the S-CNG on the 1.5-litre Dual Jet, Dual VVT engine. The Grand Vitara S-CNG is capable of producing 86bhp and 121Nm of torque. This engine only comes paired with a manual gearbox option. What about its fuel efficiency? The Grand Vitara S-CNG delivers fuel efficiency of 26.6 km/kg.

Pricing and variants

Maruti is offering the Grand Vitara CNG in two variants – Delta and Zeta. Both variants only come with manual gearbox options. What about the pricing? The Delta variant is Rs 12.85 lakh and the Zeta variant is Rs 14.84 lakh (ex-showroom). You can also get the Grand Vitara S-CNG at an all-inclusive monthly subscription starting fee of Rs 30,723.
