Maurti latest SUV unveiled at the Auto Expo!
Maruti has upped its ante in the SUV segment. We are at the Auto Expo where Maruti is launching one new SUV after another. Today it has unveiled the Fronx a beefed-up version of the Baleno hatchback. So what does it get? In today’s article, let’s talk about this unveiled Maruti Fronx SUV.
Design & dimensions
The Fronx is 3,995mm in length, 1,765mm in width &1,550mm in height. It sits on a wheelbase of 2,520mm and has a boot space of 308mm. The front of the Fronx takes heavy inspiration from the Grand Vitara. So we have an eyebrow DRL setup with headlamps placed below them. Also, we have an upright grille with a chrome element in the middle. Coming to the side profile, we have the tapering roofline as the standout element of the Fronx. At the rear, we have connected taillamp design like the Grand Vitara.
Maruti Fronx SUV – Specifications
The Baleno Cross stays true to its sporty nature with its engine option. Maruti has given it a 1.0-litre BoosterJet engine last used on the Baleno RS. This engine is capable of producing 100bhp and 150Nm of torque. We haven’t driven it, but the Baleno Cross seems to be the most fun to drive cars in Maruti’s lineup. Transmission options include a manual and an automatic gearbox option. Also, Maruti is also offering 1.2-litre K series engine capable of producing 87bhp and 113Nm torque. Transmission options include a manual and a AMT gearbox on this engine. Tyre size is 195/60 R16.
Interior & Features
The interior of the Baleno Cross is identical to the Brezza. So we have a 9.0-inch floating infotainment system, heads-up display, six airbags, ARKAMYS Surround Sense, and a 360-degree camera. Safety features include dual airbags, ABS + EBD, ESC etc.
Maruti Fronx SUV – Pricing and variants
Maruti has only unveiled the Fronx at the Auto Expo 2023. It has similar variants to the Baleno with Sigma, Delta, Delta+, Zeta and Alpha. What about the launch? Maruti has plans to launch the Fronx by April this year. What about the pricing? It could be priced somewhere around the Rs 8 lakh to Rs 9 lakh mark (ex-showroom).
