Hyundai Verna is one of the most popular names in the sedan segment of India. This new vehicle is set to get a new generation update with plenty of changes in the exterior as well as the interior. The updated car has been spotted testing multiple times on Indian grounds which portrays a near-future launch. There are chances that we could see the new-gen Verna anytime soon in 2023. However, apart from getting these new upgrades, it is likely to miss this major thing. Which update would the new Hyundai Verna miss? Read below.

New Hyundai Verna – What to expect?

The new generation of Verna is going to be a big step from its predecessor. It is going to receive a slew of upgrades with a more spacious second row, new exterior styling and a fresh interior layout. The major update is likely to be the increased wheelbase which would result in increased legroom for the rear passenger. If we talk about features, the new Verna is expected to get plenty of them. Features like Heads Up Display, large infotainment screen, 360-degree camera, powered and ventilated seats, and comfortable seat cushions could be seen. If we talk about its pricing, it is likely to get more expensive because of the drastic upgrade over the current car.

New Hyundai Verna – No diesel engine?

The new generation update of the Verna is likely to come with new engine options. There are talks that the 1.0-litre turbo engine is likely to diminish from the car. Instead of this, Hyundai is planning to implant the new 1.5-litre turbo mill as a replacement. The possible reason for this incident could be the increased length of the car. As the overall dimensions of the car are increased, the 1.0-litre turbo could feel underpowered propelling a longer and wider than the predecessor.

Moreover, if we talk about its diesel option, the new Verna is touted to pull the plug off its diesel engine. The new generation Verna is expected to miss out on the 1.5-litre diesel engine. What could be the reason? The extra costs for making this engine compliant with the RDE norms will mount the car prices eventually reducing its sales. This will reduce a low return on investment for the brand so Hyundai must have decided to keep the Verna available with petrol engine options only.
