Maruti’s most expensive SUV being PLANNED!
India’s highest car seller has joined the SUV bandwagon with several new SUVs. We have the Brezza CNG, Jimny, Baleno Cross and many other products which are linedup for launch. We have the Grand Vitara as its flagship SUV which lies under the C-segment SUV category rivalling cars like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and many other SUVs. With a rapidly increasing SUV portfolio, Maruti is likely to load up one more product that could rival the Jeep Compass. In today’s article, we will talk about Maruti’s Jeep Compass rival.
Jeep Compass rival – Suzuki A-Cross
The RAV4 is one of the highest-selling Toyota cars in global markets. The Japanese automaker has updated this car with an update for 2023 and today we will take an extensive look at it. The overall design of this SUV has kept bold with a large grille, heavy wheel cladding and chunky roof rails. However, you also get some modern design elements like sharp headlamps, dual tone colour scheme, and a neat-looking side profile. This car is largely sold in the USA wherein many family buyers opt for this vehicle due to its enhanced practicality, present-day SUVish look, and all the modern tech.

The 2023 RAV4 comes loaded with features. This car is heavily packed with features like a 10.5-inch infotainment system, an all-digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, a powered tailgate, dual zone AC and more. It also gets ADAS for the global models alongwith another safety tech like blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, airbags, ABS, etc.
Specifications
The 2023 RAV4 is powered by a 2.5-litre engine that makes 203bhp and comes mated with an 8-speed automatic transmission. You can also opt for the All Wheel Drive system which is offered in higher trim levels. This smart system can automatically detach power from the rear axle and drive it solely on the FWD setup. This results in high fuel economy whereas if you get the two-wheel drive version, it only comes with a front-wheel drive setup.
Jeep Compass rival – Launch timeline
The launch of the A-Cross is not yet slated from Maruti. However, this could be an apt rival for Compass and other midsize SUVs in the category. Following this pathway, Maruti could easily cater for the needs of higher-segment buyers. This could foray into the possibility of Maruti bringing a full-size SUV in the future.
