This is not the Mahindra XUV500!

Mahindra is on a constant rise in the SUV segment. It has leapfrogged into the fourth-best manufacturer in the country with high sales from the XUV700 and Scorpio-N. But Mahindra knows that it needs an SUV in the most lucrative segment in India i.e the C-SUV segment. Mahindra has plans to bring the XUV500,but before that, we could see a Born Electric Car. Earlier this year, Mahindra showcased five new ‘Born Electric cars’. Now Pratap Bose has teased a car from these five Born electric car. In today’s article, let’s talk about the Mahindra EV 2024.

BE07

Pratap Bose recently teased a covered car on his Instagram page. Most people have speculated it to be the upcoming XUV500. But we don’t think that is the case. Instead, this car could be the production version of the BE.07, which Mahindra showcased in August this year. Why do we think so? For starters, the big wheel arches couldn’t be of the XUV500. Also, the sharp cuts and creases on the side profile suggest that it is the BE.07. Another strong hint is the spoiler design that slopes into the C-pillar. Also, the phrase all is calm could be a hint towards its electric powertrain. 

What else to expect?

Mahindra revealed a lot of information about these ‘Born Electric Cars’ at the unveiling. The BE.07 will be based on Mahindra’s new INGLO platform. This platform offers 5G network capabilities, edge-to-edge screen, augmented reality and over-the-air updates (OTA). Coming back to the BE.07, it is 4565mm in length, 1900mm in width & 1660mm in height. It sits on a wheelbase of 2775mm. The front gets C-shaped LED DRLs like the XUV700. At the rear, we have C-shaped tail lamps. Mahindra didn’t reveal the range figures, but it stated that 60-80kWh battery packs could be used in their Born electric cars. It is also expected to come in rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel drive options.

Mahindra EV 2024 – Launch timeline

During the unveiling, Mahindra stated that the launch of the BE.07 could happen by October 2026. The teased image could be just Mahindra showing the production version of the concept. The launch could still happen in 2026 or Mahindra could fast forward the launch in 2025 or 2025.
