3 cars Mahindra needs in the future

Mahindra is enjoying one of the best sales periods in its history. It has broken into the top 4 manufacturers list with the success of cars like the Thar, XUV700 and Scorpio-N. However, there is a big gap which Mahindra needs to bridge to challenge Tata in 3rd place. To bridge this Mahindra needs to bring some inspiring products in these segments. In today’s article, let’s talk about three cars Mahindra needs in future.

Punch rival

Mahindra was one of the first manufacturers to enter the small SUV space with the KUV100. Sadly for Mahindra, this experiment didn’t work quite well for the brand. However, with the launch of Punch, this segment has roared back to life. Mahindra will want to make a re-entry into this segment with an all-new car. The KUV100 is already an old car and that’s why we think a new car would make more sense. This new car will need a better design and several new features to take on the Tata Punch. Mahindra could also bank on its powerful engine options to challenge the Tata Punch.

Future Mahindra cars – A C-segment SUV

Mahindra is yet to touch the C-SUV segment. This segment has been a goldmine for manufacturers, and Mahindra would want to have a piece of that too. According to reports, Mahindra is planning to enter this segment with the XUV500 nameplate. This will help Mahindra to cash in on an already popular nameplate. Mahindra’s C-segment car could get an aggressive design and modern interiors. Mahindra will have to load it with features to take on the established players in this segment.

An updated modern seven-seater

Another segment Mahindra needs to address is the urban 7-seater space. It has the Marazzo in this space, but its sales are quite abysmal. In November, Mahindra sold 201 units of the Marazzo, which is nothing compared to the Kia Carens and Maruti XL6. Mahindra needs to update the Mrazzo or bring an all-new one altogether. If it brings a new car it should be a modern car with all the creature comforts and features. This formula has worked for Kia with the Carens and could do the same for Mahindra.
