Affordable 7-seaters have always been popular in the country. Currently, the most affordable 7-seater in the country is the Triber. However, Nissan could spawn its 7-seater in the coming time. It will not be a badge-engineered Triber, but a different car. In today’s article, let’s talk about a Rs 8 lakh 7-seater.

Nissan 7-seater

Nissan lacks an affordable 7-seater in its ranks. Its sister company Renault has the Triber which is the most affordable 7-seater in India. So what can Nissan do? There were reports that Nissan could just do a badge swap with the Triber. However, Nissan has dropped that plan. Building a new car would also not be feasible for the brand. Instead, Nissan has chosen to accommodate a third row in the Magnite.

How will it work?

Nissan will not be making any structural changes to the Magnite. It will be directly fitting extra seats in the boot of the Magnite. Kia did the same thing with the Sonet in Indonesia. How will it work? In all probability, the Magnite 7-seater will be a cramped car. But it will be ideal for people looking for extra seats only on some occasions.

Rs 8 lakh 7-seater – Compared to Triber!

But how will it stack against the Triber? Considering the Triber will be a bigger and better car, the Magnite 7-seater will come with a turbo petrol engine, something the Triber misses out upon. The Triber feels slightly underpowered and the Magnite 7-seater could cash in on this aspect. What about the pricing? Currently, the pricing of the Magnite starts from Rs 7.29 lakhs (on-road, Mumbai). We can expect a price hike of Rs 30k to 40k on the Magnite 7-seater, which could be a very lucrative price. But the biggest question is – will it be on sale in India? Or will it make sense for export to South East Asian markets!
