The Megane e-tech is one stylish-looking car. Like other similar EVs, the Megane e-tech looks more like a crossover than a proper SUV. At the front, we have sleek headlamps with the Renault logo in the middle. It gets a weird DRL design. The side profile is clean with no major creases and cuts. Coming to the rear, we have LED taillamps with a connecting strip in the middle.

The Megane e-tech is based on Renault’s CMF-EV platform. Globally, the Megane e-tech comes with two battery pack options: a 40kWh (300km range WLTP cycle) and a 60kWh (470km range WLTP cycle). What about the motor? It gets two motor options, a 129bhp and a 215bhp. The 215bhp motor has a claimed 0 to 100 km/h acceleration under 8 seconds.

The Megane e-tech is one of Renault’s more premium offerings and gets features to justify that. It gets a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, a 12-inch infotainment system, a Google Assistant system, a blind spot sensor etc. The Megane e-tech also comes with 26 ADAS functions, the most in its segment.

There is no official confirmation from Renault regarding the Megane e-tech. However, there are reports that Renault is evaluating the Megane e-tech for our market. It makes sense considering Renault currently doesn’t have any India-specific products. The Megane e-tech could take on the Kia EV6, which is gaining popularity in India. If launched it could come through the CBU route, so it could start from Rs 50 lakh to 60 lakh (ex-showroom).
