The C-SUV segment is one of the most popular segments in India. These cars offer the perfect blend of space and ease of use. The Hyundai Creta has ruled this segment with an iron fist since its launch. However, the Creta is finally getting proper competition from the Maruti Grand Vitara. Hyundai is looking to counter that by bringing a new update and this is not the facelift. It could bring a CNG setup on the Creta. In today’s article, let’s talk about the 2023 Creta CNG.

Creta CNG?

The Creta CNG was recently spotted testing in Pune. Its significance stems from the fact that the car was undergoing ARAI testing. This is not the first time Hyundai cars have been spotted with CNG kits. Even Kia cars like the Carens and Sonet have been spotted with CNG. So it makes sense that Hyundai is testing the Creta CNG.

Why the need?

The Creta does offer a decent enough mileage in its segment, but the high fuel prices have made people even more conscious. The upcoming diesel emission norms have made people vary in buying a diesel car. Even though the Creta offers decent mileage, the launch of the Grand Vitara and HyRyder has spiced up things with their hybrid setups. Now Maruti and Toyota are going one step ahead by offering CNG options on both of them. To counter this, Hyundai will need to bring the Creta CNG.

There is no confirmation from Hyundai regarding the Creta CNG. However, the new spy shots have fueled the rumours of Creta CNG. With the car being on ARAI testing it could mean the launch could happen soon. Like Hyundai, Kia is also testing the 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine on the Carens CNG. There are rumours that Hyundai could introduce the Creta CNG with the upcoming facelift.
