New MG Hector leaked before launch!
MG started with a bang in the market. Its first product, the Hector was the perfect blend of space and features combined with attractive pricing. However, this car has kind of stagnated in the sales chart. It raked in 1,630 sales in October, which is nearly half of the Tata Harrier sales. To control the slide, MG is working on an all-new Hector. We have covered the car in detail, but now a full spy of the car has leaked online. In today’s article, let’s talk about the MG Hector 2023.
New spy shots
The new spy shots show the car without any camouflage. The images were posted by the Instagram pade of ‘hertstintsandwraps’. We can see the new grille which MG has been teasing on its online platforms. This is a chrome grille adding a lot more gilt to the front. MG has also tweaked the headlamp design a bit. Side-profile is more or less similar to the current model. Alloy wheels are also similar to the current model.
What about the rear? MG has changed the logo positioning and chrome bits giving the rear a new look. Also, we can see a new rear bumper and the Hector insignia now in the centre. Also, there is ADAS badging confirming the presence of this safety feature on the new Hector.
What else do we know?
MG is employing a new strategy with Hector. It will be launching the new Hector, but the current model will mostly be sold alongside the new model. MG’s thinking behind this is that the new Hector will be a lot more premium with new features and ADAS functionality. However, all these things will come at a cost, with the new Hector expected to be Rs 2.5 lakh to Rs 3 lakh more expensive than the current model. So, MG wants to keep the current Hector for buyers who don’t want the extra bling, while the new model will cater to people looking for more creature comforts.
MG Hector 2023 – Launch date?
According to reports, MG could launch the new Hector on the 5th of January 2023. MG has already started the teaser campaign for the new Hector. Earlier, MG was expected to unveil the new Hector this year, but the plans seem to have been postponed due to chip shortage.
