The compact SUV segment has become a gold mine for manufacturers. All SUVs in this segment are racking in good sales. In 2020, Nissan launched the Magnite, which has uplifted the brand in India. Now Nissan would want to improve the Magnite even further. So what can Nissan do? Nissan could bring the facelift of the Magnite. In today’s article, let’s talk about this Rs 7 lakh Nexon rival.
Design changes?
The Magnite doesn’t look outdated by any stretch of imagination. Still, Nissan will have to update the design to give the Magnite a fresh look. Nissan could give some subtle changes like a revised grille, front bumper and side skirts. Another thing Nissan could change is by giving new alloy wheels.

The Magnite will continue to be based on the CMF-A platform. This platform also underpins Renault cars in India. Specifications-wise, the Magnite will continue with a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine (71bhp & 96Nm of torque) and a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine (99bhp & 160Nm of torque). The turbo petrol engine is already quite peppy, and it’s unlikely Nissan will fiddle much with the engine options.
More features?
The Magnite surprised everyone with the number of features it offered at launch. Some of its standout features include a 360-degree camera, connected car technology, a digital instrument cluster, wireless charging etc. Other than that, Nissan could give it features like an auto-dimming IRVM, 6-airbags, sunroof, paddle shifters etc. Nissan could also focus on the quality of materials to make the interior more premium.

There is no official confirmation from Nissan regarding the Magnite facelift. However, the Magnite is due for an update considering the fierce competition in this segment. If Nissan launches the Magnite with the aforementioned upgrades it could set the segment on fire. The Magnite is known for its affordable pricing, and Nissan will have to balance that out in the facelift.
