The Toyota Fortuner rules the full-size SUV segment in India. Practically, it enjoys a free run in the segment with no competitor being able to put up a fight. Now, Toyota wants to extend its advantage even further by bringing the new-generation Fortuner. So will this Fortuner be cheaper than the current Model? In today’s article, let’s talk about the price of the new Fortuner.

The new-generation Innova Hycross will be based on the new TNGA-F platform. Why is this platform so special? Toyota and Lexus use this platform on the Land Cruiser and LX. Also, Toyota will be accommodating a new mild-hybrid setup in the new Fortuner. In this setup, the new Fortuner will come with an alternator, assisting during acceleration and powering the car at lower RPMs.

New Fortuner price – New features

Toyota, as a brand, is not for modern features. However, it is looking to change that perception, as we have seen on the new Toyota Hycross. So we could see the new Fortuner get the same treatment. It could get wireless phone projection, a panoramic sunroof, a new instrument cluster and a 360-degree setup. Can we expect ADAS? Yes, we could see Toyota Safety sense on the new Fortuner, considering the Innova Hycross gets it now.

Will it be cheaper?

Now, coming to the main question, will it be cheaper than the current model? The possibility of that happening is quite slim. First of all, the car will be using the TNGA-F platform, which will bump the price. Also, the mild hybrid setup will be expensive. To top that off Toyota will be giving it several new features. So we think the new Fortuner will get a price hike of at least 3 to 4 lakhs depending upon the variants.
