4 upcoming unique cars in India!
2022 has been quite an eventful year in the Indian automotive scene. We have seen several new launches and also updates to existing cars. The action is not going to stop in 2022 with several new launches However, we could see several unique cars coming in 2023. These cars will be something we have never seen before in our market. So what are these cars? In today’s article, let’s talk about such unique cars.
MG Air EV
The first car on the list is MG’s compact EV, the Air EV. The Air EV will be a compact two-door four-seater car. It is essentially a Kei car that are popular in Southeast Asian countries but has never been popular in India. The Air EV is a quirky-looking car with DRLs on the bonnet. Being an MG car it comes loaded with features like a 10.25-inch infotainment system, rotary-gear selector and electronic parking brake. What about the specifications? The Air EV gets two range options- a 200km standard and a 300km extended one. MG is expected to launch the Air EV sometime next year.
Unique cars- Citroen C3 EV
Another EV on the list is the C3 EV. Citroen is working on electrifying the C3. The C3 EV has been spotted testing around the company’s plant in Chennai. Currently, we don’t have any EV micro-SUV. Tata could bring the Punch EV, but there has been no official confirmation from Tata. Coming back to the C3 EV, it could come with a 28kWh battery pack delivering a claimed range of around 300km. The C3 EV could also get more features than the ICE C3. Citroen is expected to unveil the car this year with a launch happening sometime next year.
Maruti Baleno Cross
Maruti is working on a beefed-up version of the Baleno hatchback. This car could be called the Baleno Cross. So what’s so unique about it? The Baleno Cross will be a coupe SUV with a tapering roofline. How are we so sure? The car has been spotted testing several times revealing this aspect. Also, this cross version gets higher ground clearance than the hatchback. To go with the Coupe dynamics, it will come with a 1.2-litre booster jet engine. It will also come loaded with features to attract buyers. Maruti could unveil the car at the Auto Expo of 2023.
Unique cars- Maruti Jimny
The Jimny is the second Maruti car on the list, Maruti is going hard in the SUV segment. So how will Jimny be unique? The Jimny is a compact off-roader, something we have not seen much in the Indian market. Coming to the product, the Jimny 5-door has been spotted testing in India. Its silhouette is quite similar to the 3-door Jimny. Engine specifications could include a 1.5-litre turbo petrol or a 1.4-litre turbo petrol. Being an off-roader, it will come with a 4×4 setup and also a 4×2 setup on lower variants. Maruti could unveil the car at the Auto Expo of 2023.
