New Renders
The new Hyundai Verna has been spotted several times in India and globally. Now using these spy shots, Kelsonik, an Instagram page, has made a render of what the new Verna could look like. At the front, we have a big grille, something we see on the new i20. This render gets eyebrow DRLs with headlamps placed lower. At the rear, we could see a design similar to the new Elantra.
What else can we expect?
From the spy shots, the new Verna is expected to be bigger in dimensions than the outgoing model. These bigger dimensions should translate to more space in the interiors. Other than that, we can expect modern interiors and more features. Hyundai could give it new features like a 360-degree camera, a bigger infotainment system, a heads-up display and improved connected car technology.
Verna 2022- Engine specifications
The new Hyundai Verna could continue with the same engine options. So we can expect a 1.0-litre turbo petrol, 1.5-litre naturally aspirated and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. But with the bigger dimensions, the Verna will need a better engine to power it. So Hyundai should give the new Verna the 1.4-litre Turbo petrol engine from the Creta. This engine will also help Hyundai take on the Volkswagen Virtus and Skoda Slavia.
Verna 2022- Launch timeline
Hyundai has been quite tightlipped about the launch of the new Verna. However, the car has been spotted quite frequently in India. So Hyundai could unveil the car at the Auto Expo of 2023. The launch may happen a few months after the Expo. What about the pricing? The new Verna is expected to get expensive, with an expected starting price of Rs 13 to 14 lakh.
