Don’t buy this Rs 12 lakh Maruti car NOW!

Maruti cars generally sell like hotcakes in the Indian market. Most of its cars make it to the best-selling car list. But one car that is really struggling the most is the – Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. The Ciaz is a competent product, but you shouldn’t buy it now. So why is this the case? In today’s article, let’s talk about this Rs 12 lakh Maruti car.

Why?

Rs 12 lakh Maruti

The biggest reason to avoid the Ciaz is that it has gotten outdated. The Ciaz was launched in 2014 and got a facelift in 2018. That is almost four years since the last facelift. It seems that Maruti has forgotten it has a product named Ciaz in its lineup. Everything else in the segment is new or heavily updated. It also misses out on a diesel engine.

Maruti’s plan with Ciaz

Maruti has been quite tightlipped about its plan regarding the Ciaz. Logically the Ciaz should get a facelift in the upcoming months. The executive sedan segment is very cutthroat with sales being swallowed by SUVs. Maruti should ideally give it a design makeover and add new features as it did with the new Baleno and Brezza. The entire Maruti line-up is new – except the Ciaz. Also naturally, any customer walking into a NEXA showroom will more likely pick the Grand Vitara SUV over the Ciaz.

Rs 12 lakh Maruti car – When to expect?

Rs 12 lakh Maruti

As mentioned above, there is nothing official from Maruti regarding the Ciaz facelift. And Maruti has updated all its cars barring the Ciaz. So it could give it a second facelift sometime in 2023. What about the pricing? With the updated design and new features, we could expect a price hike of Rs 40k to 50k depending upon the variants. It will rival cars like the Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Slavia, Honda City and the upcoming new Hyundai Verna.
