The Indian car market has seen a massive amount of growth in the last few years. To tap into this growth, manufacturers are launching new cars in our market. Many OEMs are even launching their international cars. However, while doing so, the brands are also cutting costs by removing some features. One such feature is an all-wheel drive (AWD). AWD helps in tricky situations where the car is stuck in mud or slush areas. In today’s article, let’s talk about Indian cars that get AWD abroad.
Maruti Swift
The Swift is one of the most popular hatchbacks in our market. It is known for its sporty characteristics. However, the Indian Swift is a front-wheel drive vehicle, but its international models get an AWD system. The Japanese models also come with a hybrid setup, which is expected to be launched in India.
Indian cars AWD- Maruti Ignis
Though not as popular as the Swift, the Ignis is quite a competent product. Like the Swift, the Ignis also comes with an AWD setup. Where does Suzuki sell this AWD Ignis? For now, Suzuki sells the AWD Ignis in European and Japanese markets.
Hyundai Creta
Another popular car on the list is the Hyundai Creta. The Creta gets a lot of things right, but it is not a proper off-road SUV as it is a Front-wheel drive car. However, Hyundai sells the AWD Creta in the Russian market. The AWD is offered on a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine.
Indian cars AWD- Kia Seltos
Like its sibling, the Kia Seltos also comes with AWD functionality abroad. Kia offers the Seltos AWD in American, South Korean and other developed markets. In the American market, the Seltos AWD comes with a 1.6-litre turbo petrol engine and a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated engine.
