Nissan India has had an eventful past couple of years. It was almost on the verge of exiting the Indian market due to low sales and no new inspiring product. However, the launch of the Magnite has helped revive the Nissan brand. Now Nissan is looking to continue the momentum by unveiling a new car on the 18th of October. So what could Nissan launch in India? Earlier it was speculated to be Nissan leaf. However, we have obtained a spy of a very different Nissan car in India. This spied car could be the Nissan X-Trail. In today’s article, let’s talk about the Nissan X-trail in India.

What do the spy shots reveal?

The spy shots reveal a car covered in heavy camouflage. From the grille design and logo cutout, it is a Nissan car. On further inspection, the grille design and headlamps design closely resemble the new Nissan X-Trail. The side profile also looks identical to the X-Trail sold outside India. Also, the alloy wheel design is the same as the X-Trail.

The X-Trail sits between the Nissan Qashqai and the Pathfinder in Nissan’s global portfolio. As a product, the X-Trail is a big car, which is 4,681mm in length and has three rows of seats. The new generation launched in 2022 comes with an aggressive design language. What about the interiors? The X-Trail comes with a premium fit and finish in the interior, being one of the flagship models in Nissan’s global lineup. Globally, the X-Trail comes with a 1.5-litre turbo engine and also the same engine comes with an electric motor called the e-Power. In terms of features, it has a 10.8-inch heads-up display, a 12.3-inch infotainment system and a panoramic sunroof.

Will Nissan launch it in India?

There is a lot of uncertainty about what Nissan could launch on the 18th of October. Earlier, it was speculated to be the Leaf, but the car is yet to be spotted in India. The spy shots of the X-Trail hint that Nissan could launch it in India and it would make sense to do so. If Nissan wants to add decent volumes to its current sales getting a big SUV for India makes more sense than a electric car.
