All manufacturers are jumping into the EV bandwagon. Mostly all German manufacturers have brought their EVs onto Indian shores but some are still in process. One such carmaker is Skoda, which lies under the Volkswagen group. Under its India revival 2.0 program, it came out with flying colours and now is forraying its plan in the EV sector. It plans to bring its German-bred electric SUV that could go against other premium products like the BMW i4, Kia EV6, and more. Which is this new Skoda electric SUV? Let’s know more.
Design and Dimensions
We are talking about the Skoda Enyaq iV which is a fully electric car with fairly huge dimensions. It sits 4,648mm in length, 1,877mm in width & 1,618mm in height. It gets a wheelbase of 2,765mm and a ground clearance of 187 mm. Its dimensions are similar to the Kodiaq which is essentially a 7-seater car. However, the Enyaq isn’t. This EV is strictly a 5-seater car with an ample amount of boot space ranging at 585 litres. In terms of design and styling, it carries over the modern design language of Skoda and also maintains an SUV nature. It gets body cladding on the skirts along with roof rails. Other bits like the front and rear look sharp with slim headlamps, sharp cuts on the bumpers, and creases and cuts on the overall car.

The interior of this EV looks modern and sporty. It gets an all-black sporty treatment along with a flat-bottom steering wheel. The usage of buttons is kept minimal, and the gear selector is modern with a short lever. Another main highlight is the 13-inch infotainment system with a floating design. The car also has lots of cubby spaces for your stuff which enhances practicality. The overall cabin feel is premium with soft-touch materials, leather upholstery, an all-digital instrument cluster, ambient lighting, and more.
Specifications
The Enyaq iV4 comes with multiple range options in the global market. Whereas, there is a high chance that India could get the top-spec one. Why do we say so? Skoda has spotted testing its Enyaq iV4 on Indian roads which was actually the ’80x’ variant. Now, this ’80x’ version gets a 77kWh battery pack which gives a claimed range of 513kms(WLTP cycle). This whole powertrain setup is an all-wheel-drive layout with dual motors. It churns out a power figure of 265bhp and 420Nm of torque.

Skoda might bring its first EV to India next year. There are chances that Skoda could unveil the Enyaq iV4 at the Auto Expo 2023. Moreover, its pricing might range somewhere between Rs 50 to 60 lakh (ex-showroom). For buyers who were looking for a premium electric SUV, this new offering from Skoda would be a VFM option against its rivals. The brand could also lure in some ICE buyers in this price segment.
