In terms of design, the Alcazar looks more premium and stylish. It gets a new set of bumpers, a different alloy wheel design and other visual changes different from the Creta. The Alcazar has a chrome cascade grille, dual exhausts, and bigger 18-inch alloy wheels which are not available in the Creta.

Talking about the dimensions of the Alcazar, it measures 4500mm in length, 1790mm in width, 1675mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2760mm. As Alcazar gets a third-row seating option, it is longer than the Creta by 200mm and has an extra wheelbase of 150mm. All in all, the Alcazar is more spacious on the inside and also gets the premium appeal which we will discuss further.

Both cars have the same interior layout and are loaded with features like ventilated seats, driving modes, a 10.25-inch infotainment system, a panoramic sunroof, and more. However, it’s the Alcazar which gets the upper hand in terms of equipment.

For starters, the interior shade of the Alcazar is Cognac Brown which feels more upmarket. You also get a fully-digital instrument cluster that is missing in the Creta. Moreover, you get side footsteps, blind spot monitor, 360-degree parking camera, front parking sensors, etc. additional in the Alcazar.

You get three engine & five transmission options to choose from in the Creta. Engine options include 1.5-litre petrol, 1.4-litre turbo-petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel that come mated with different transmission options ranging from six-speed manual, iMT, DCT, CVT and Torque Converter.

On the other hand, Alcazar gets two engine options. Now, there’s one more plus point with the Alcazar. What’s that? If you are going for the petrol Alcazar, you get the larger 2.0-litre engine which is available in Tucson. It is a powerful engine capable of generating 156bhp & 191Nm of torque. Moreover, you also get the choice of a proper torque converter automatic gearbox which is missing in the Creta.

The diesel engine of the Alcazar is the same as the Creta. It continues to get the same 1.5-litre diesel engine that makes 113bhp & 250Nm of torque. Transmission options are also the same with six-speed manual and torque converter automatic being on offer. All in all, if you are going for the petrol Alcazar, it does make sense over the Creta.

Hyundai Creta starts with a price tag of Rs 12.40 lakh (on-road, Mumbai) for the base variant and goes all the way up to Rs 21.98 lakh (on-road, Mumbai) for the top variant. Talking about the Alcazar, it starts at Rs 19.07 lakh (on-road, Mumbai) and reaches Rs 24.58 lakh (on-road, Mumbai) for the top variant. 

Which one should you get?

If budget is not an issue and you can stretch it to some extent, Alcazar offers more on the table. You get more features, higher seating capacity and eventually a car that is more premium than the Creta. It also gets a better petrol engine than the Creta which has more power and performance. However, if you are getting diesel, you get it the same as the Creta. There is an average difference of Rs 2 to Rs 3 lakh (on-road prices) between the prices of the car and if you are comfortable spending the extra buck, Alcazar could be your choice given the additional elements on offer.
