Tata has enjoyed a strong positive trajectory in the market since the past few years. From being outside the top-5 manufacturers list to challenging for the second spot, Tata has come a long way. Its SUV lineup has majorly contributed to this growth, but other cars have also chipped in with their sales. However, Tata knows it can’t get complacent. So it has planned a sleeve of upcoming cars that are expected to launch in the coming months. In today’s article, let’s talk about new Tata cars in 2023.

Nexon CNG

The Tata Nexon has been a star performer for the brand. It had been the best-selling SUV in India for the entirety of this year. However, its dominance was halted by the new Brezza. Now, Nexon wants to take back its crown. So what can Tata do with the Nexon? The brand could bring in a CNG variant of this compact SUV. The Nexon CNG will cater to people looking for a fuel-efficient, safe SUV. In terms of changes, it will get the CNG badging and the CNG tank in its boot. Other than this, we expect the power figures to drop a bit. Biggest rival to Nexon, the Maruti Brezza is also touted to get a CNG setup in the coming time.

Altroz EV

2023 Tata cars

Tata has tasted great success in the EV segment. It has done so by converting its existing ICE cars into EVs. We already have the Nexon EV and Tigor EV in the market. Tata is also bringing the Tiago EV on the 28th of September. After that, we can expect Tata to bring the Altroz EV. The Altroz EV will be identical to the ICE Altroz barring some subtle changes like blue highlights & new colours. What about specifications? The Altroz EV could share its specifications with the Nexon EV Prime. So, it could get a 30.2kWh battery pack with a 143bhp motor. Tata may give it some extra features to attract buyers.

2023 Tata cars – Punch EV

Another Tata EV that we expect to see is the Punch EV. The Punch has done well for the brand and it would make sense that Tata will bring its EV version. Like the Altroz, the Punch is based on the Alfa architecture. We can expect blue highlights and a new Signature Teal Blue colour option. What could its specifications be? The Punch EV could get similar specifications as the Altroz. In terms of features, it will get all the features of the ICE Punch with some new features to attract buyers. The Punch EV would face its biggest rival in the form on the Citroen C3 EV, which is set to debut in 2023.

Harrier/Safari facelift

2023 Tata cars

The Harrier has been instrumental in Tata’s success in the big SUV space. The Safari has followed in the footsteps of the Harrier. Now, both of them are expected to get a major facelift. So what changes will they get? Both the cars could get reworked front fascia with new headlamps and bumpers. Coming to the mechanical part, both the cars could get a new petrol engine. However, the petrol engine is not a priority so we might not see it with the imminent facelift. Will it get new features? Yes. These facelift could get a new infotainment system, 360-degree camera, etc. Tata might also add some ADAS features to attract buyers. The facelifts are said to make their debut by early 2023.

Yes, Tata wants to dabble even further in the EV segment. According to rumours, Tata is working on the Harrier EV or an EV based on the Harrier. For now, this car has been codenamed ‘Eturna’. Reports suggest that Tata is testing the car at its manufacturing plant. The car has even completed the ‘mule’ phase and has entered the Alpha test phase. If rumours are to be believed, this EV could see a launch by mid-2023. We have written a detailed article on the Harrier EV which you can check by clicking on the link below.
