In terms of design, it appears sporty with its dual-tone color scheme and integrated rear door handle.

Moving on to the Baleno, it looks more conventional and sophisticated. Maruti sells the Baleno in the premium hatchback segment. In terms of dimensions, it measures 3990mm in length, 1745 in width, and stands 1500mm in height. The ground clearance of Baleno is 170mm. In comparison, both cars are completely different in design, however, with the increased dimensions of the Baleno, it offers more interior space. The boot space is also 318-litres, which is larger than the Swift’s 268-litres.

Swift has many features starting from the VXi variant itself. However, Swift offers better-claimed mileage than the Baleno. Mileage figures of the Swift are claimed at 22.38kmpl (MT) & 22.56kmpl (AMT). The Baleno, on the other hand, returns 22.35kmpl (MT) & 22.94kmpl (AMT). Moreover, Swift now comes equipped with factory-fitted CNG technology with manual transmission. It is claimed to return a mileage of 30.9kmpkg.

Maruti Swift is available in four variants – LXi, VXi, ZXi, and ZXi+. Moreover, you can also get the CNG bi-fuel option in VXi and ZXi variants. Pricing for the LXi manual starts at Rs 6.95 lakh (on-road, Mumbai) and goes up to Rs 10.30 lakh (on-road, Mumbai) for the ZXi+ AMT dual tone variant.

Maruti Baleno is offered in a total of four variants as well. The base variant Sigma starts at Rs 7.56 lakh (on-road, Mumbai) and goes till Rs 11.24 lakh (on-road, Mumbai) for Alpha AMT variant.

It also looks more premium and certainly is more spacious. However, if you are in search of a sporty-looking hatchback for fun driving dynamics, you should go for the Swift. You also get an option of CNG in the Swift which can prove to be a major plus point for some buyers.
