Toyota’s new car to be unique!

Toyota had been biding its time in the Indian market and for the last few years, it was just baking on the sales of the Fortuner & Innova. However, since its partnership with Maruti, it has started bringing new products. It has already launched the Glanza and Urban Cruiser HyRyder. But now it is bringing a car that will be unique, even for Toyota in India. So what is this car? It is the Toyota Glanza CNG and in this article, we will be talking about it, even discussing its unique quotient.

What’s new?

The Toyota Glanza CNG was spotted even before the regular variant was launched. Now, Toyota has homologated the CNG. So what does it mean? In simple terms, it means that the launch is near. Toyota is calling its CNG the e-CNG. According to reports, it will get CNG on its S, G and V variants. Surprisingly, Toyota is not offering CNG on the base E variant.

CNG specifications

The Glanza currently comes with a 1.2-litre, K-series engine capable of producing 89bhp & 113Nm of torque. Transmission options include a five-speed manual and an AMT gearbox. So what about the specifications of the Glanza CNG? According to the certification, Glanza will have a power output of 76bhp. This is a drop of 13bhp, which is regular for a CNG car. Toyota Glanza is expected to return a fuel efficiency of 25km/kg to 27km/kg. Also, the Glanza CNG is 40kg heavier than the regular Glanza.

Toyota Glanza CNG – Pricing

Currently, the Glanza CNG starts from Rs 7.72 lakh and goes to Rs 11.60 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). So what will be the pricing of the Glanza CNG? Considering there is no base variant, we expect the Glanza CNG to start from Rs 9 lakhs (on-road, Mumbai). If Toyota launches the Glanza CNG before the Baleno, it will become the first car in its segment to do so; the first premium CNG hatchback.
