Toyota has been working on multiple new products and it isn’t hidden to us. Toyota has been working on multiple new products for the Indian car market. Some are in collaboration with Maruti, some aren’t. Toyota has been known for its Innova and Fortuner, which are primarily dominated by diesel engines. With the Innova – the same might not stay true for long. Toyota will be introducing an all new Innova, which will be not based not the Fortuner – and it will be a front wheel driven MUV. This new Innova could be named as the HyCross and will be made available with a 2.0-litre petrol and petrol hybrid options. Lets talk in detail about the Toyota Innova hybrid.

New Engine?

Toyota has been working on multiple new engines and platforms and one from each will be seen on the new Innova HyCross. We have already driven and experienced the new Toyota Urban Cruise Hyryder, which gets the new 1.5-litre petrol hybrid engine. So, the 1.5-litre engine is a 3-cylinder engine and its 4-cylinder version is the 2.0-litre one, which will power the new Innova HyCross. So technically this will be the same engine with different cylinder configurations.

Toyota Innova hybrid- Other details

This will be long than the current model, shall offer a lot more modern features and will be sold along with the current Innova Crysta also. If you are confused at the moment? We will recommend you to wait – as the new Innova will be unveiled towards the end of November this year. While the bookings for the Crysta have been stopped as the current Innova Crysta has been overbook anyways. So, you could pre-book yourself the Innova HyCross – and you won’t have a lot of details on this MUV.

With regards to other Toyota launches, the Urban Cruiser facelift is also due to come. The current Fortuner will be getting a global replacement too and there have been rumours that the Fortuner will be getting a diesel hybrid system that shall reduce the carbon footprint of this SUV. Toyota has a lot of action packed in the coming two years of all new products and even some rebadging of Maruti vehicles like the Ciaz. For the time being – hold on to seat this will be the next joy ride from the Japanese auto maker.
