Mahindra invested in the EV segment way before any other manufacturer was even thinking about it. Sadly, it didn’t work out well for them, so Mahindra took a step back. However, Mahindra was already working on the XUV400. We have been hearing about the XUV400 for a long time and now Mahindra has finally unveiled it. The overall silhouette of the XUV400 is pretty identical to the XUV300. However, there are some subtle changes. First of all, the XUV400 is longer than the XUV300. It is 4200mm in length, 1821mm in width & 1634mm in height. It sits on a wheelbase of 2600mm and boot space of 378-litres (418-litres when counted up to roof). Next up, we have the closed grille, a common trait of all EVs. This grille gets the copper-coloured Mahindra logo with X-shaped inserts. Headlamps come with LED DRLs and chrome elements.

The side profile is similar to the XUV300, barring the extra length. At the rear, we have a new tail lamp design. The XUV400 also gets a copper-coloured roof with an electric sunroof. The interior gets an all black theme with copper inserts, giving it a premium look. Mahindra has updated the button layout from the XUV300.

Mahindra has paid special attention to headroom, legroom, visibility from the cabin and boot space, to make it an overall comfortable & attractive package. Mahindra has benchmarked cars like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Hyundai Kona EV, MG ZS EV & Tata Nexon EV Max while planning the strategy for this product.
