Bajaj Pulsar CS400 (VS400) to be launched soon

The upcoming Bajaj Pulsar CS400 (VS400) has been spied testing in Ladakh. The bike seen in the pics is the top end version, with ABS. Instead of upside down telescopic forks, the production version will get a telescopic unit. The rear has gas charged monoshock. Disc brakes are present on both wheels.

The Pulsar VS400 is the next upcoming 400cc bike for the company.  The company has officially named it as Pulsar VS 400. This will be Bajaj’s first ever 400cc bike. Do you recall this bike as the Bajaj Pulsar CS400, showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo? Built on a similar engine like the Duke 390, Bajaj is looking at raising the bar of the Pulsar segment. So, what is the deal about this bike? Is it fast enough. Does it offer good power and performance vis-a-vis price? The design of this bike looks sharp.

Bajaj Pulsar CS400 Styling

This is a naked bike, but it will get a slightly more upright seating position. This is quite an aggressive looking bike. This will be the first 400cc Pulsar that will be launched. Bajaj will be adding more variants to the 400cc Pulsar in the near future. The VS400 will be somewhat like the KTM Duke. The styling will be rugged and Bajaj is looking at getting this bike introduced in India and even other European nations too. The VS400 has a large fuel tank and even thick tyres. There will be LEDs in the headlamp and the production version will even get projector lamp. In dimensions, the VS400 is bigger, fatter and there isn’t much of a difference in height. The tyres too on the Pulsar VS400 are thicker for better grip.

The engine will be a single cylinder engine. This will be a torquey engine. This will be a good upgrade for the existing Pulsar 200NS owners who are looking for an upgrade. This cruiser sports bike will have more torque than the regular Pulsar RS400 (which will launched later). The CS400 will be an ideal bike for those who cannot afford to pick a Duke 390 for themselves, but are looking at similar performance and a 400cc bike tag too. Torque will be one of the strongest points of this engine. It will have the excitement that will make this bike a good option for those seeking for performance. The bike won’t be too heavy either. This engine will produce 34bhp instead of the 43 on the Duke 390.

The six-speed transmission will help to improve the performance and even the fuel-efficiency as well.

We expect the top speed of this bike to be about 170km/hr. It might be limited electronically for safety purposes.

Bajaj Pulsar CS400 (VS400) Variants

This bike will be made available only a single variant. This will be coming with a dual channel ABS and it will be sold with a lot of optional accessories though. More variants might be launched in the near future.
