Mahindra XUV400 launch

Mahindra’s first teaser for the XUV400 has left us with some really interesting details. First of all, the brand has confirmed the ‘XUV400’ moniker which was long being speculated as the official name for this EV. Apart from this, the headlamp setup looks very similar to that of the XUV300. Inverted-L-shaped LED DRLs are clearly visible along with projector headlamps. However, what is more interesting is the logo. Although, Mahindra has brought in the Twin Peaks logo for this electric SUV, one thing to note here is the copper coloured logo. Does it strike a chord? If it doesn’t, let us remind you that this is the exact same logo that the brand had showcased and will be using with its Born Electric ‘XUV’ SUVs (XUV.e8 & XUV.e9). Along with the logo, the teaser reveals a closed-off grille with copper coloured ‘X’ elements. Also, the brand has confirmed the launch for the 8th of September.

The XUV400 will be longer than the XUV300 and will measure around 4.2-metres, longer than the Tata Nexon EV. This added length would result in space to house batteries as well as offer extra boot space. Talking about specificaations, this SUV could come with a 150bhp, single motor setup. Mahindra is expected to offer the XUV400 with two battery pack options; one with lower range & one with higher range. It is expected to deliver a real-world range of around 300km to 350km with the bigger battery pack and around 200km to 250km with the standard pack. In terms of features, this SUV is touted to debut with ADAS capabilities that will definitely help it dominate the segment.

Mahindra will be looking to take on prominent rivals like the Tata Nexon EV Prime, Nexon EV Max, MG ZS EV & Hyundai Kona EV. Are you excited for this EV? Let us know in the comments.
