Maruti is all geared up to bring a new SUV in each segment. This concentration of Maruti would bring a new coupe-like SUV which could be known as the Baleno Cross. It could also unveil the new-generation Swift at the Auto Expo 2023. The peppy Swift Sportz could be showcased next year with a new 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine. Other than this, the much-awaited Jimny 5-door would be the showstopper for the brand.
Hyundai has been consistently maintaining the second spot in terms of sales. However, the homegrown Indian makers are falling as a threat to the Koreans, trying to steal its position. To give them potential competition, Hyundai is ready to bring the Creta facelift to the C-SUV segment with an added list of features. In addition, the Korean automaker could also put its hands in the affordable MPV segment with its Stargazer. Also in line is the new Hyundai Verna. The car has already been spotted testing on multiple occasions and is expected to see an India launch next year.

Kia is expected to bring a fresh look to its highest selling car, the Seltos facelift. The C-segment SUV from the brand could go undergo a facelift update to stay in line with the competition. As the competition is quite heated up due to the launch of the Japanese duos – Maruti Grand Vitara & Toyota Hyryder, there is a need for Kia to update its Seltos.
The Czech automaker Skoda is in conglomeration with its parent company Volkswagen under the India plan. While Skoda has the steering wheel in developing products that are apt for Indian conditions, Skoda is planning to enter the EV segment. This new SUV from Skoda, the Enyaq EV could enter the premium market of EVs with a price tag of around Rs 60 lakh (ex-showroom).

Rivaling the Kia EV6 and Volvo XC40 Recharge, the ID.4 is expected to enter the Indian market. Indian buyers are likely to get an option of the GTX version in the ID.4 which is the faster car. The first EV from the brand could sit in the premium EV segment offered in different trim levels. Other than this, there is no concrete information about any other car from the brand.
Tata Safari facelift & Harrier facelift are said to go on sale the next year with some more features. Features like a 360-degree camera, ADAS, and some other tech could be added to the SUVs to mark up their appeal. Moreover, there are also new EVs in rife from Tata. The Indian automaker is expected to bring the Altroz EV to the market. This could only make the EV portfolio of the brand wider and have more options for the buyers who are looking for an affordable EV. Some reports have even suggested of Harrier EV being in the works, with an expected launch around mid-2023.

Mahindra has some serious plans under the EV category. With the unveiling of the BE concepts, it has laid out a strong foundation for its EVs. However, the brand is also not falling behind in the ICE race. It is expected to bring the Thar 5-door possibly next year with increased practicality. Moreover, it has also planned to bring an affordable 8-seater into the market with the launch of the Bolero Neo Plus. The Neo Plus could add another car under the Bolero moniker with easy to maintain ladder frame platform suitable for rugged duties.
Force is working on two new cars for the upcoming year. Both being primarily focused on the utilitarian outlook, the company has plans for the Gurkha 5-door and the new Trax. With the 5-door Gurkha, the company would be aiming towards increased practicality and space for the buyers and the Trax could be the best option as a people carrier for an offroad capable commute in remote areas.

MG could likely ignite a new segment in the Indian market. It could bring its E230 micro EV to the market. This new E230 would cater as a secondary car for many buyers living in cities who are looking for a small cute car for intercity runs. The pricing of the car could be a crucial factor in deciding whether this car is a hit or a miss.
The French automaker has laid its foundation in the Indian market with its SUVs. However, the brand has some different plans. It is touted to enter a new segment with a new MPV for the Indian Market. Citroen is looking forward to bringing a new affordable MPV that could cater to the needs of Indian buyers. Stuffed with practicality and space, this new van could be a great people mover. Other than this, the C3 is highly likely to get full electrification treatment, probably a C3 EV. There are also specifications for a bi-fuel CNG technology in the C3.
Upcoming cars in India 2023 – Honda
Honda showcased the RS SUV at the Indonesian Auto Expo this year. This car is expected to get ready in its full production form in the next year. Rivaling the cars like Venue, and Nexon, this new compact SUV could get petrol as well as diesel engine options. Options of manual and automatic engine options could be also made available.
The current-selling Kicks is falling behind in terms of features and appeal, therefore Nissan could possibly get the Kicks facelift to India. This new car is already available in the global markets, so there are high chances that the new car could make its way here.Nissan is also studying the possibility of a Magnite 7-seater for India.
