The new Alto K10 has been revised completely in terms of looks and design. It now stands with a length of 3,530mm, a width of 1,490mm & height of 1,520mm. It sits on a wheelbase of 2380mm which makes it more spacious than its predecessor. The overall design has also been given an update taking design cues from its other siblings like Celerio. The car comes with a ground clearance of 160mm.

Moving on to the S-Presso, the car has a slightly beefed-up design with a ground clearance of 180mm. Defining its SUV characteristics, it has a more robust look when compared to Alto K10. Dimension wise the car is 3,565mm in length, 1,520mm in width, and it has got 1,564mm in height. Comparing the dimensions of both cars, S-Presso is a bigger car overall.

Specifications

The S-Presso and Alto K10 are offered with the same 1.0-litre petrol engine. Both the cars get the K10C engine that generates 66bhp & 89Nm of torque. Along with the power figures, both the cars get the same gearbox options, a five-Speed manual and an AMT. Mileage figures for S-Presso manual are 24.76 kmpl (claimed) whereas for Alto K10 are 24.39 kmpl (claimed). For AMT variants, the S-Presso claims a mileage of 25.3kmpl whereas the Alto K10 claims a mileage of 24.9kmpl.

The Alto K10 sit on 145/80 R13 tyres whereas the S-Presso sits on 165/70 R14 tyres.

Maruti has updated the S-Presso in terms of features. On the other hand, the newly launched Alto K10 also has some nifty features too. Talking about the common features, both these cars get keyless entry, steering mounted audio controls, SmartPlay studio infotainment system, rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, etc. However, S-Presso shines it way ahead with some more tech that is not available in the Alto K10. S-Presso gets electrically adjustable mirrors, body-colored mirrors, Hill Hold Assist and ESP in the AMT variants.

Pricing of the Alto K10 starts at Rs 4.72 lakh for the STD MT and goes up to Rs 6.86 lakh for the VXi+ AGS. (on-road, Mumbai). The Maruti S-Presso starts at Rs 5.02 lakh for the STD MT and goes up to Rs 7.01 lakh for VXi+ Optional AGS (on-road, Mumbai). Looking at the prices, the difference is largely Rs 30,000 which seem nominal for all the extras you are getting. Not only does the S-Presso rank higher when it comes to space but it also offers more features.
