It retains the original look of the Scorpio with muscular body styling, vertically slated tail lamps, and a curvy side profile. In terms of styling, it gets a chrome grille with signature LED projectors, chrome door handles, diamond-cut alloy wheels, and more. The exterior look is fairly identical to the top model Z8L.

In terms of features, the Z8 variant is loaded. The car gets a slew of features that include leatherette seat, steering covers, wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, drive modes (diesel variant), and more. In terms of powertrain options, the Z8 is offered in a total of six combinations. You get the 2.0-litre mStallion engine that is capable of making 200bhp & 370Nm of torque. You can opt for a six-speed manual or an automatic torque converter gearbox. However, you don’t get an option of 4×4 with the petrol mill.

Moving ahead to the diesel engine, you get the 2.2-litre mHaWk engine with a higher state of tune. The engine is capable of making 172bhp & 370Nm of torque. Moreover, you can further opt for a more serious 4×4 variant with the diesel motor. Gearbox options for the diesel motor include a six-speed manual and an automatic torque converter gearbox.

Mahindra Scorpio Z8 starts at a price of Rs 20.35 lakh (on-road, Mumbai) for the petrol manual variant and Rs 22.65 lakh (on-road, Mumbai) for petrol automatic variant. The prices for diesel start at Rs 21.29 lakh (on-road, Mumbai) and go to Rs 26.77 lakh (on-road, Mumbai) for the 4×4 automatic variant. The Z8 offers a great overall package of all the nifty features and tech that is available in the top variant. As this variant offers all possible powertrain options, Z8 is the option you should consider.

With all of this being said, if budget is a constraint, the Z4 variant lineup also makes sense. You can check that out as well. However, one thing to note here is that this variant is not available with the diesel automatic 4X4 configuration.
